The Affinity Group: Your Denver Realty

Formed in 2006 by Greg Eckler, the Affinity Group offers you a team of agents with over 25 years of real estate experience in Metro Denver.

Greg had been a real estate agent for several years before he created the Affinity Group. He felt that a team of agents, each specializing in a niche market of Metro Denver, were the best fit for the Denver real estate market.

Today, Greg has put together a team of Denver real estate agents who really know Denver neighborhoods and who can paint a true picture for the client – the pros and cons of living there, housing styles and values, commute times, local amenities, even the best coffee shop – in order to provide the highest level of customer service possible.

GREG ECKLER – Principal, Denver Real Estate Agent

Greg’s primary focus is central Denver – from Stapleton to Highlands to DU, and everything in between. As its founder, he is also the main point of contact for the Affinity Group. Originally from the east coast, Greg grew up outside of Philadelphia and earned a degree in Business with a concentration in Information Technology from Virginia Tech. After moving to Charlotte, NC, he worked as a computer programmer in healthcare, met and married his wife, and ended up at IBM.

Greg’s desire to help others combined with his financial savviness and an entrepreneurial bug ultimately lead him to a career in real estate. While vacationing, he and his wife fell in love with Denver and decided to make it their home – a move that was supposed to be “temporary,” but has lasted for nearly 10 years.

Greg’s business card lists a title of Real Estate Consultant because being a real estate agent is more than just being a broker or salesperson; it's about relationships. It’s about taking care of the customer, regardless of their decision to buy, sell or walk away. That is why Greg looks forward to the opportunity to earn your business.

STEVE MAHEDY – Denver Real Estate Agent, Broker Associate

Originally from Des Moines, Steve headed west in 1992 to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. After earning an Economics degree, he spent a year in Italy before returning to Denver to begin a career in software sales and marry his college sweetheart. Steve’s initial interest in real estate stemmed from his wife’s job at Historic Denver – one of the nation’s premier historic preservation organizations, protecting Denver's unique neighborhoods and buildings. He launched his real estate career in 2003 and quickly earned the classification of “Historic Denver Certified Realtor.”

Steve’s primary focus is south Metro Denver – from the Denver Tech Center to Highlands Ranch to Littleton to Parker, and everything in between. In addition to building long-term relationships, Steve thrives on the collaborative consulting process that allows his clients to obtain their dreams and goals.

SUSAN BUONSANTE – Denver Real Estate Agent, Broker Associate

Originally from Chicago, Susan moved to Denver in 1992 and worked in the Transportation and Logistics field for many years before becoming a stay at home mom. During this time she developed a love for real estate investing that included owning rental properties and doing “fix and flip” projects across the city. Upon returning to the work force in 2003, Susan decided to turn her part time passion into a full time career by becoming a real estate agent.

Susan’s primary focus is southeast Metro Denver – from Aurora to Parker to Castle Rock, and everything in between. Being a transplant herself, she especially enjoys working with people relocating to Denver because she understands those unique challenges on a personal level. Helping to evaluate the needs and desires of her clients to find the perfect home within their budget is one of her strong suits. And she also takes great joy in helping first time homebuyers find the home they may never have thought possible to own. It is Susan’s passion for real estate that easily translates into a great home buying or selling experience for her clients.

CYNDY BENSCHOP – Denver Real Estate Agent, Broker Associate

Originally from Southern California, Cyndy has lived in Denver – specifically north Metro Denver – for the past 13 years. She started her real estate career in the early 1990’s, and from the first day vowed to serve her clients with integrity. No dialogues. No pressure. Just honest assessments of the best options for her clients. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, over the past 20 years Cyndy has earned several certifications, including: Certified Negotiation Expert® (CNE), Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and a Certified Distressed Property Expert®.

Cyndy’s primary focus is north Metro Denver – from Arvada to Longmont to Thornton to Boulder, and everything in between. Her years of experience in the local market means she is a tremendous asset to the clients she serves; consistently giving them peace of mind through her experience, organizational skills and proven negotiation results.

Why do we call ourselves real estate consultants? Our professionals think and act more like consultants than salespeople. We use the title to distinguish ourselves from Denver real estate agents who focus on just one sale. We build long term relationships by listening to clients, working hard for them, and helping them make the best decision for their situation, regardless of the outcome. We also provide referrals to professionals in a variety of fields that do quality work – our little way of supporting small business owners who we believe in and trust.

We don't spend time cold calling, door knocking or advertising to find people buying or selling a Denver home. Our business plan centers on spending all of our time serving clients rather than marketing or advertising for new business. We're able to do this because our past clients, who know that we are honest and hard working, regularly refer us to their friends and family.

“Consultant” is a descriptive title, above and beyond that of real estate agent, because we value the relationship more than the paycheck.
